Celebrating 100 Years

of Golf, Curling, and Community in Canmore

For a century, the Canmore Golf & Curling Club has been a place where sport, friendship, and community come together in the heart of the Bow Valley.

A Milestone in
the Making

our history

Founded in 1926 by local residents who cleared the land by hand and built a course for the community, the Canmore Golf & Curling Club has grown alongside the town itself. What began as a volunteer-driven golf association tied closely to Canmore’s coal-mining roots has evolved into a welcoming, year-round hub for both golf and curling.

1926-2026

Through THE decades

Through decades of change, including Canmore’s transformation following the mine closure in 1979 and the pivotal moment of the 1988 Winter Olympics, the Club has remained a constant. The uniting of the golf and curling clubs in the mid-1980s marked a defining chapter, bringing two sports together under one banner and strengthening the Club’s role within the community.

Today, the Club continues to reflect the spirit, resilience, and character of Canmore.

A Club Built on Community

Over the past 100 years, the Club has been more than a place to golf or curl.

It has been where:

Set against the backdrop of the surrounding peaks, the Club continues to be a space for connection, recreation, and shared memories.
